Kazuo Ishiguro

This is a reimagining of Kazuo Ishiguro's new novel, Klara and The Sun. It explores the ambiguous relationship that exists between an AI and a human. It's a narrative about love, loss, and coming to terms with it.

Posters & Iterations

I focused on the concept of connection and interaction. The human hand is one of the story's most prominent elements, as well as the means by which touch is transferred. I insert hands with touching movements into circular windows meant to depict the sun, taking direct cues from the novel's title. The misalignment of these clippings to make contact with one another communicates the hazy character relationships without giving away the plot.

I also expanded the poster-making to include a series of book signing events targeted at the Japanese/bilingual market.
