Ultimately the essence of any Writing System has its roots in sharing knowledge, expressing emotions and recording history. A system of human intercommunication by means of conventional visible marks. Anthropologists have been credited with saying: “Language distinguishes man from animal, so writing distinguishes civilized man from barbarian.”— Gelb, I.J., A Study of Writing, University of Chicago.
The goal is to create a book on the subject of Writing Systems that is based on an established grid. Meaning and relationship of color, legibility and hierarchy of type are important factors to consider.
